Candace Bouchard is a former soloist for the Oregon Ballet Theatre and an accomplished teacher. She grew up training with Ludmilla Dokoudovsky and Antoni Zalewski in St. Louis. She later studied year-round at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and with Darla Hoover at Ballet Academy East in New York, and attended summer programs with Boston Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, CPYB, and American Ballet Theater.

Candace joined Oregon Ballet Theatre as an apprentice in 2003, joined the main company in 2004, and was promoted to Soloist in 2008. During her time with OBT, she was known for her clean, crisp technique, intellectual approach to difficult choreography and sense of joy in performance. These are the same concentrations she brings into the classroom as a teacher, helping students set up a solid, thoughtful foundation from which to unravel complicated sequences and approach them with clarity and confidence, while maintaining a positive environment to experience all the joy of being a dancer.

In addition to dancing, Candace has choreographed, most notably, a series of performances with local bands performed in music venues in Portland, meant to bring the skill and talent of OBT's dancers into unexpected settings. She has also taught regular sessions, workshops, and master classes throughout the Pacific Northwest. She retired from OBT at the end of 2017.
